Is your dog experiencing neck pain, paralysis, dragging of leg(s)? If so, confine him to a quiet, safe spot (where he cannot walk, run or jump) - preferably a crate - until you can get medical help. In the meantime, Linda Stowe, the owner of Dodgerslist, along with Yolanda of DRNA, are moderating this forum. Along with any emergency questions, concerns, aftercare questions, articles, etc are all welcome here, provided they pertain to IVDD in pets. Emergencies and Aftercare forums are separate sub-forums that can be accessed through this forum.

Some illnesses are genetic to the Dachshund breed. Others are specific to other breeds. This forum is for the discussion of illness and health - whether it be a specialized breed issue, or not. For back and/or neck problems (dragging of legs, paralysis, neck pain), please go to our special Disc Disease Forum (above) to post your concerns and/or comments regarding back and neck vertebrae issues.

Blindness, sight impairments of any kind, Cushings Disease, Lyme, paralysis, the elderly (access "senior" sub forum within this one) - how do you handle such challenges, and how well do your pets handle them? Do you need help with pets newly diagnosed with special challenges? Post here!
