Hot Spots
One of the most common skin problems is hot spots. They can be caused by flea bites, allergies and when long - hairs are not dried properly after a swim or a bath. They are warm, moist, infected areas on the skin. The fur needs to to clipped around it, then the infection should be cleaned with a topical ointment or diluted hydogen peroxide. If the spot is not healing properly within a day or two, consult with your veterinarian.
Another effective method is a 50:50 mixture ratio of apple cider vinegar and water, dabbed on sore, which has been cleared of all hair, several times per day. See vet if not cleared up within a day or two. Jeannie Fazio
