Regular Annual Checkups
In the spring, when the dog's are due for their annual shots and heartworm test, I like to have the vet do a tooth scraping, ear, stool check, anal sac extraction ( if necessary), nail trim, and a complete physical to make sure that the back feels healthy. Be sure that your dog has been tested for heartworms once a year, be given a monthly heartworm preventative in warmer climates, and is vaccinated on a regular basis, according to schedule.
