The Dachshund Network began its email
discussion group in 1995 under the name of Dachshunds@cybercom.net. Over the years, as servers changed, so did the list's name (The Dachshund Connoisseur and Zone, which was mentioned in the book, "Dogs on the Web”), until finally settling into its new
domain, thedachshundnetwork.com.
The Web site was developed shortly after the list's inception as a place to provide crucial information for existing owners, along with those researching Dachshunds and pets in general.
Hundreds of members from around the world, some who have been faithful subscribers since 1995, have banded together in sharing their knowledge with those in need of helpful,
non-confrontational advice. Some have even formed other worthy causes all as a result of meeting others and becoming inspired while among The Dachshund Network group.
As always, the focus of the list and Web site is to be a source of education for those
wanting to provide the best care for their pets., and to find a loving pet in need of a good home.
